Chapter 15: Cure Found

Ace had gone after Kageri. The others would have to find the cure in Cobalia without him.

Ace found Kageri sitting near the edge of a river.
Ace shouted to him, “Kageri!”
“Go away Ace,” Kageri said.
“Is what LC said true?” Ace asked.
“Yes it is. Now leave me alone,” Kageri said.
“Kageri,” Ace sighed, “I…I love you too.”

“Found it!”
The others ran over to where Destructrion was.
“You found the cure?” Alpha asked.
“Damn right I did,” Destructrion said, holding up a glass filled with green liquid.
“That stuff looks like slime,” Sean said.
“Who cares what it looks like? The important thing is that we found it,” DT said.
“Yeah except now the next important things are finding Ace and Kageri, and getting this to UCM before the next three days are up,” Destructrion said.

The two were still sitting by the river only now Ace had his arm around Kageri.
“Is this fight even worth while?” Kageri asked.
“What do you mean?” Ace asked.
“Dead Reckoning was formed just a month ago to fight against Blood. Once Blood died, we thought everything would be better, only to discover that he has a son. Now both The Assassin and Blood are back and we still haven’t found LC11 or SL,” Kageri said.
“The future isn’t what it seems. We’ll get rid of all three of them and then things can go back to being peaceful,” Ace said.
“Or as peaceful as things can get with LC being a bastard,” Kageri said.
“Just ignore him,” Ace said. “He’s just trying to get attention.”
“So basically he’s acting like an attention-whore right now,” Kageri said.
“Pretty much,” Ace said.

“Well if it isn’t the two lovebirds,” said a voice from behind Ace and Kageri.
The two turned around and saw none other then The Assassin there.
“Seems your little friends entered Cobalia,” The Assassin said. “That happens to by my home. So I decided, why not kill one of their friends as an example as to what will happen to them?”
“You’re not going to kill anyone,” Kageri said. “Not while I’m around."
“You? Ha! You’re nothing but a stupid spy for Dead Reckoning! What could you possibly do to stop me?!” The Assassin said, laughing…
