Chapter 14: Searching for a Cure

Rix, Safix, and Curt had agreed to stay back at Chao Club and help UCM while the others looked for a cure. So far, they haven’t had any luck in Algeron or Jasindu.

It had become dark out and so they set up a camp for the night. Everyone was asleep except for two people, Kageri and DT.
“We’re running out of time,” DT said out loud.
“We all know that,” Kageri said. “If any place will have the cure, it will be Cobalia.”
“What if it doesn’t? Then what would we do?” DT asked.
“…I don’t know,” Kageri said.
“Exactly, we wouldn’t know what to do any then UCM would end up dying,” DT said.
“You just have to have faith,” Kageri said. “UCM wouldn’t lose faith in any of us, so you can’t lose faith in him.”

“Would it be weird if I said that I could hear UCM calling to me?” DT asked.
“Who do you mean by ‘calling to you’?” Kageri asked.
“It’s like, I can hear him but I can’t see him,” DT said.

“There’s something I need to tell to UCM and Alpha but I don’t know if I should or not,” DT said.
“There’s only one thing I can say to that,” Kageri said, “and that’s to do what you feel you should do.”

Later on in the morning, Destructrion was the only one up. He did the first thing that came to his mind when it came to waking the others up. Destructrion used one of his weapons to make a loud explosion. Needless to say, the others were wide awake.
“Was that really necessary?” Kageri asked rather angrily.
“Yes, yes it was,” Destructrion said proudly.
“Trigger happy weirdo,” Kageri muttered under his breath.
“I heard that,” Destructrion said.

They had arrived on the outskirts of Cobalia. Only Kageri wasn’t with them for he had run off earlier. Apparently he saw something that was following then and so had gone after it. Of course, that was only an excuse for he really ran off for what had happened earlier.

*Flash Back*

“I say that I should be leader,” LC said.
“Too bad, I’m leader,” Kageri said.
“You’re not doing a very good job or it,” LC said.
“Well, I’m a lot better then you,” Kageri said.
“Yeah right, that’ll be the day,” LC said.
“You’re starting to get on my nerves,” Kageri replied.
“You know what? I think the only reason you decided to be leader is because you’re trying to impress someone,” LC said, “and I think I know who. You’re trying to impress Ace!”
“What?!” Everyone else yelled.
“I am not!” Kageri yelled rather quickly.
“I knew it! You really are!” LC said. “Then that means that what I heard from Safix is true. You’re in love with Ace!”
Before Kageri said anything else, he turned and ran, claiming that he saw something.
“Kageri, wait!” Ace yelled after him but Kageri didn’t hear.

*End Flash Back*
